Our gîtes are located on the border of the two departments, immersing you in unspoilt, verdant landscapes.
The rolling plateaus are criss-crossed by numerous medieval villages and meadows as far as the eye can see.

The emblematic caves

The Grotte du Bosc (30 minutes away) is a mysterious place hollowed out by an underground river forming extraordinary stalagmite columns. It's a perfect family visit for young and old alike. Less than an hour from the Hélios gîtes, the Grotte de Pech Merle is famous for its prehistoric paintings. It's an enriching visit, complemented by a museum presenting the period and cave art. There are many places to visit around our gîtes.

Cahors

The town of Cahors is just 30 minutes from our accommodation.
This medieval city invites you to stroll along its cobbled streets and admire its emblematic Pont Valentré, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Every Wednesday and Saturday morning, the local market brings the town to life, offering fresh, authentic produce.
In summer, gourmet markets with large convivial tables are organized to discover the gastronomy of the South-West.
With its rolling vineyards and terroir, Cahors promises an unforgettable visit.

Saint-Cirq-Lapopie

Saint-Cirq-Lapopie

Saint-Cirq-Lapopie is a small medieval village classified as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France", 40 minutes from the gîtes.
Perched on a cliff above the River Lot, it offers spectacular views over the valley.
The half-timbered houses in the cobbled streets are home to numerous artists' and craftsmen's stores, inviting you to take a stroll.
The Bouziès towpath, carved into the rock, links the two villages along the Lot river.
It's a magnificent walk, well worth recommending.

Penne fortress

Penne fortress

Penne is a superb village, one of the many medieval towns in the region.
All around the gîtes, you can admire and stroll through the picturesque villages, some of which, like Penne, have preserved vestiges of another era.
This atypical village is dominated by the ruins of its castle, which offer a superb panorama.
Its reputation is also based on the quality of its vineyards and its delicious wines.
